Nova Scotia / New Brunswick / Prince Edward Island / Quebec City
A few more shots of Madeline during the rare hours when we’re not in the car:
After spending the night in Halifax, we moved on to Summerside, Prince Edward Island. On the way we stopped at Springhill, NS, where Nicole’s grandmother is from:
Then we crossed the Confederation Bridge. Two things were funny about this little island: (1) gas was the same price everywhere in the entire province, and (2) that bridge has a $44.25 toll! Nicole of course got some great shots of the Anne of Green Gables house:
Heading west toward Quebec City, we stopped in Hartland, New Brunswick to see the longest covered bridge in the world:
Continuing west, we had to laugh at the name of this town:
It was dark when we finally arrived in Quebec City and the glorious Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. Here is the view of the St. Lawrence from our room:
And a few shots from around Old Quebec. It was well below freezing, so we only went for a short walk; we’ll go for another tomorrow morning.
