Summer 2025 Road Trip – Part 2

While I was gallavanting around the eastern half of Canada, Nicole and the girls flew to Boston. The plan was to meet in the northeast and then drive back to Charlotte together.

I left Andy & Ken’s and met everyone in Northboro. We spent some time in Uxbridge and went to the Arnold Mills Parade in Cumberland.

Then on Saturday we headed to our annual July 4th party at the beach house in Wareham.

If that first picture looks familiar, it’s a running tradition we have whenever all the cousins get together:

Then 15 of us headed to Maine (Naples / Long Lake) to relax at a lake house and enjoy some boating and swimming from Monday to Thursday.

We stayed an additional night, and started our trek home on Friday. On that first day we drove through Maine, stopping at one of the swimming holes (Lower Falls) on the Kancamagus Highway. Then we stopped for lunch at the Woodstock Inn, checking out Cascade Park across the street before we hit the road.

We intentionally avoided Boston and New York City by using I-87 and I-84, heading into Pennsylvania and stopping for the night in Allentown/Bethlehem. (We meant to make it to Chambersburg, but our favorite hotel there was sold out!)

On day 2, we stopped at Layne’s Country Store for some delicious homemade sandwiches to bring to the Natural Bridge. I had seen pictures, but experiencing it first-hand was pretty cool.

The rest of the drive home was uneventful. I was back to our house late in the day on July 11th after leaving the morning of June 19th. It was a great time away and I only touched my laptop twice.
