Time flies…
Since my last post, a lot has happened. We had a great visit with Kirk, Petra and their three girls – we even made it to the Jack-O-Lantern spectacular at Roger Williams Zoo, on its last night, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Madeline has grown quite a bit. I went away to the PASS Summit in Seattle, where for an entire week I could only see my ladies via Skype. I came back on Saturday and then spent Sunday up at Gillette at the Patriots game with Tom, James and Mark. So really I didn’t get home until Sunday night.
This week, Madeline is starting to smile for real and she is finding her voice a lot more. We have her birth certificate and social security card, and tomorrow we are going to get her US passport (a few weeks from now we should be able to apply for her Canadian passport too – yes, she will be a dual citizen). And I’m going on Mucinex because my occasional coughs scare the crap out of her and/or wake her up. Last night while trying to suppress a cough, or at least the noise, I ended up with some acid in my throat that kept me up for three hours. If you haven’t had this symptom, think acid reflux squared – it sucks.
